Last Thursday Natoma High School students traveled to Lincoln to compete in the NPL Weightlifting Meet. These students were Trentin Maupin, Austin Housington, Charlie Chin, Neutron Uttayapamonwut, Caylie Lyle, and Makayla Murphy. Trentin: 1st Bench, 2nd Clean & Squat, and 1st overall. Caylie: 3rd Bench. Go Tigers!!!

Future plans? College for Orthopedagogy at Odyseey or Hogent

Favorite extra-curricular activity and why?: "Volleyball (I love this sport), and scholars bowl (The group was awesome)."

Favorite memory made while in high school?: "Being around Americans."

What are some important lessons you have learned so far in your life?: "Keep trying new things maybe you'll find a new passion."

What advice would you give to underclassmen?: "Be yourself and try out some stuff."

What will you miss about high school?: "My friends."

What would your dream job be?: Helping people with mental/physical stuff

Name one thing that you would like to do during your lifetime: Travel and parachute

 

Future plans?: Plan to attend South Dakota State University to be a early education special ed counselor

Favorite extra-curricular activity and why?: "The dance team because I got to learn a lot about Mrs.Paget and learn leadership skills."

Favorite memory made while in high school?: "When our volleyball team took a timer picture on the walls at the Sylvan tournament and got scared when someone knocked on the door so we all fell down the wall."

What are some important lessons you have learned so far in your life?: "It is not worth your time getting in trouble. Just be good."

What advice would you give to underclassmen?: "Make the most of it, it goes by so fast. Make memories."

What will you miss about high school?: "My preschoolers"

What would your dream job be?: Doctor

Name one thing that you would like to do during your lifetime: Learn how to sky dive or bungee jump

 

5th through 8th grade participated in a school spelling bee and after multiple rounds, the finalists were determined and the top three winners were rewarded for their achievements. The  Russell County Spelling Bee was on Wednesday, Feb. 26th at the Ruppenthal Auditorium @1:00pm. Congratulations to all the competitors!

In celebration of Kansas Day on January 29, the 4th grade students presented a Wax Museum. Each student researched an important historical figure from Kansas, developed a speech, and decorated a poster. The students pretended they were wax statues until the visitors pushed a button that would make the character "come to life."  Then they presented their speech about the life and impact of their historical person on the state of Kansas.  

 

The class also had their book titled “What Makes Our State Great?” on display for people to see. This was an ABC book the class had published back in December. Students wrote paragraphs connected to each letter of the alphabet about topics that showed a variety of topics that make Kansas a great state!

 

There are currently still 2024 yearbooks on sale for $20. 

2025 yearbooks are going on sale for $25 and if you buy 2 or more they will only cost $20 each after the first book purchase.
