Chrisler and Zeigler Qualify for State Cross Country
On a great day in Leonardville on Saturday, October 22, Kayley Chrisler and Taitem Zeigler both qualified for State at Wamego. This event will be held on Saturday, October 29. To automatically qualify a runner needed to place in the top 10 and after that there was some criteria. Fortunately both Tiger runners didn't have to worry about that. In by far the toughest regional, Kayley finished 5th among 47 runners in a personal best time of 22 minutes, 16.87 seconds. Kayley ran a tremendous race against some quality athletes. She will run at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. There were 70 competitors in the boys race and Taitem earned the 6th medal. He ran a good time of 17:57.30. I felt both runners had put in a good week of training and put that to work at the Regional meet. The top 20 will medal at State and I believe they will both do that and more. Right now Taitem has the 8th best Regional time among the three regions. Kayley is in the top 10-15. Congratulations to both runners and good luck!
