1. What subjects/classes do you teach? And how many years have you taught?
5th Grade 13 years
2. Where did you go to college?
Emporia State University
3. What inspired you to teach?
I was coaching little league baseball and really enjoyed that age group of kids.
The next day I did a quick Google search for teaching colleges and the rest is
history.
4. What made you choose Natoma?
It started out that I accepted a position to be the pastor in Paradise. I was then
informed that there was a 5th-grade opening in Natoma. I started to research the
school district, I asked a few questions to different people and came to the
conclusion that this district was trying its very best to give every child a well-
rounded education and that is exactly what I want to be part of.
5. What is your hometown?
The big city of Herndon, Kansas!
6. Was teaching always your passion?
Teaching was not always my passion. I really enjoyed farming when I was a kid
and still do today.
7. What was your first impression of Natoma?
Natoma felt to me like home. People were very kind to me, it has small mom and
pop shops and a very relaxed feel to it.
8. What was your favorite subject in school?
PE, Recess, Lunch
9. What is your ideal age group to teach?
10 years old
10. Have you worked at other schools in the past?
Goodland, Wichita, Neosho Rapids
11. What was your initial reaction to such small class sizes?
This is going to be easy.
12. What is your favorite sport/extracurricular activity?
Fishing, Hiking, Football, Basketball, Kayaking
13. What is your favorite type of music
Any kind of Christian Music. Skillet “Feel Invincible”
