Help for Salina Regional Patients
In May of 2023, Natoma Schools collected items to be donated to hospitalized children and their attending parents and guardians. Many items were donated for the service project. Some of these included shampoo and conditioner and other hair products; body wash, soap, and washcloths; deodorant and shaving supplies; toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss; toys, stuffed animals, books, and games. At the end of the 2023 spring semester, Natoma Elementary children assembled these various items into bags to be delivered to and used at the hospital.
On October 13, several students of Natoma Elementary dropped off 25 kits at Salina Regional Health Center. These packs will be handed out to children who must stay in the hospital and the adults who will be staying with them. The packs will fill basic needs and provide entertainment to families in their time of need. The Salina Regional Pediatric Unit said thank you and that the items will help their patients and families "feel more at home."
